Help Your Child Grow
Every child is a blessing. With nourishing food and loving care, they grow strong and bright.
Why the early years matter
In the first few years, your child's brain grows faster than it ever will again. More than 80% of brain growth happens before age 3. Every meal, cuddle, and word builds the connections your child needs to learn and thrive for their whole life.
Choose your child's age
0–6 months
Nourish
- Give only breast milk, day and night, at least 8 times in 24 hours.
- The first yellow milk protects your baby — give it right away.
- No water or other foods before 6 months.
Love
- Hold your baby skin-to-skin as much as you can.
- Answer your baby's cries quickly — you cannot spoil a newborn.
- Gently stroke their arms and legs; your touch helps them feel safe.
Connect
- Smile and make soft sounds — your face and voice are the best toy.
- Move a colourful cloth slowly for them to follow with their eyes.
- Copy your baby's sounds back — this is how they learn to talk.
Why this matters
In the first months, your baby's brain grows faster than it ever will again. Every feed, every cuddle, and every gentle word builds the connections that shape how your child learns and feels for life.
